Cake Decorating Tips

*~Cake Decorating Tips~*

Use Betty Crockers white cake: https://www.bettycrocker.com/products/betty-crocker-baking-and-cake-mixes/white

First make some frosting. (Recipe: Put a stick of Crisco in a mixing bowl. Than add two tablespoons of vanilla and a splash of milk. Mix and add four cups of powdered sugar. Mix, if it is too hard add some milk and if it is too runny than add some more powdered sugar.)

How to make frosting flowers: The most easy way is probably to put a dot of frosting for the middle of the flower. Then make little petals from the edge of the circle to the edge. The size depends on how big your middle is.

How to frost a cake: First put a glob of frosting into the middle of the cake (It can be any color or flavor, but red normally doesn't taste good) then take a frosting spatula (https://www.amazon.com/OXO-Grips-Offset-Icing-Spatula/dp/B00004OCNM) and spread it around. Try to make it even layers. To do the sides you put a bit on the sides the cake and spread it around. If you want a cake with a smoother frosting look try fondant but, fondant isn't something you would want to try if you are a beginner. For the decorations there isn't a wrong or right way to do them and you don't even have to decorate. Although I think it looks better if you do at least some decorating ti all tastes the same in your mouth.

*This isn't a cake decorating tip but two things to know are: When your cake is baking one way to see if it done is sticking a chopstick (Or something long and skinny) into your cake. If it comes out with no cake batter on it then it is done and if it comes out with batter dripping from it then it needs to bake longer. My other tip is: Make sure your cake has cooled down before you frost it. If it isn't cooled down than it will be crumbly, it will melt the frosting, and it will be much harder to frost.
